Privacy Policy

On January 1, 2004, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) became effective. PIPEDA requires stringent guidelines be complied with regarding the collection, storage and disclosure of private and personal information collected on individuals. Aeroguard Group is prepared to comply with the Act and has developed the following Statement on Privacy.

Ten Privacy Principles

  1. Accountability: Aeroguard Group is responsible for private and personal information collected and has appointed a Privacy Officer to be accountable for compliance with PIPEDA and its guiding principles.
  2. Identification of Purposes: Private and personal information will be collected for purposes stated either before or at the time of collection.
  3. Consent: Knowledge and consent will be obtained from customers or employees when collecting private and personal information, except where exempt by law.
  4. Limiting Collection: Private and personal information will be collected and retained only for the purposes stated and intended.
  5. Limit Use, Disclosure and Retention: Private and personal information shall not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required by law. Private and personal information shall be retained only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes or as required by law.
  6. Accuracy: Private and personal information will be collected and maintained accurately. Inaccuracies will be subject to immediate correction and updates will be initiated as and when required.
  7. Safeguards: Appropriate measures have been taken to ensure that private and personal information is safely and securely collected and retained.
  8. Openness: The Privacy Policy is available in written form at all Aeroguard Group work site locations and on the Aeroguard Group website (http://www.aeroguard.ca).
  9. Individual Access: On written request to our Privacy Officer, an individual will be advised of the existence, use and disclosure of their private and personal information which is under our control.
  10. Provide Recourse: Concerns regarding the Privacy Policy or our compliance with PIPEDA should be addressed to the Privacy Officer.
