Management Team:

Terry Smith, Vice President, Operations

Terry joined Aeroguard Group on December 1st, 2009.  In his previous roles as Chief Coroner, British Columbia and the Officer in Charge, Surrey Detachment, RCMP, Terry excelled as a leader and is known for his ability to implement change and operational improvement.  He was successful in the delivery of long-term strategic plans resulting in enterprise-wide consistency and effectiveness of the business units under his leadership.  He is recognized as a partner, a strategist and a leader in both his commitment to his teams and to the public he serves.

As Vice President, Operations, Terry is responsible for leading the Operations team in meeting operational requirements and achieve greater operational efficiencies in a cost effective manner. Under his leadership, his team will ensure Aeroguard is well positioned in the rapidly changing environment of security screening.

Peter Connelly, Vice-President, Human Resources & Administration

Peter is responsible for ensuring that the highly skilled team of Aeroguard professionals is well equipped with the resources they need to deliver the highest standards of care to our clients. Aeroguard’s behavioral interviewing, hiring and selection systems as well as orientation training are among the best.  Our Human Resources team recruits trusted, confident and experienced individuals who demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills. Our efforts in recruitment are essential to producing our low attrition rates and a stable, highly-engaged workforce. Peter also oversees such areas as: compensation, recognition, payroll, health & safety, performance management, procurement and internal communications.

Peter joined Aeroguard in 2005, bringing more than 20 years of experience in Human Resources within the travel industry. Previously, Peter was Vice President, Human Resources & Administration for Carlson Wagonlit Travel and Vice President, Human Resources & Administration for Marlin Travel (Thomas Cook Travel).

Bill Brown, Vice President, Labour Relations

Well managed labour relations are at the cornerstone of an effective security service team. Bill is responsible for the management of Aeroguard’s labour relations functions and strategic relations with unions across the country. Bill leads Aeroguard’s team in the smooth execution of union contracts and collective bargaining agreement negotiations to obtain ratified agreements with satisfied parties.

Bill has 17 years of experience with Aeroguard. He also worked with Intelicom for six years as Operations manager, overseeing the security officers and ATM contracts for Western Canada.

Ingrid MacKenzie, Vice President, Corporate Affairs

Ingrid is responsible for Aeroguard Group’s Corporate Affairs including communications, sustainability, quality programs, charitable giving and corporate governance.  She works in partnership with each business unit to ensure new initiatives are effectively communicated and implemented to achieve sustainable, professional service by every Aeroguard employee at every moment of truth with the traveling public.  With an eye on strengthening current business practices, Ingrid also looks to build solutions transferable to new business.

Prior to joining Aeroguard, Ingrid was charged with Communications and Training as the Vice President, Employee Experience at Indigo Books and Music, Canada’s largest national book retailer.  With over 10 years of consulting in the areas of communications and training with financial, technology and government agencies, Ingrid is a perfect compliment to the Executive team with her wealth of knowledge and experience.

Carol Ann Ballantyne, Chief Financial Officer

As a privately-owned Canadian company, Carol Ann manages the relationships with Aeroguard’s bonding company, insurer and financial institutions. She provides the oversight of Aeroguard’s financial reporting, forecasts and accounting.

Carol Ann joined Aeroguard in 2006 after working as a consultant with CRO solutions, providing interim management services to underperforming entities and new businesses. Previously, Carol Ann served as Vice President, Customer Care and Operations, as well as Vice President Finance and Operations, during her 18-year career with Nokia Products.
